Sancrox Quarry is a Heidelberg Materials Australia hard rock quarry located 8 kilometres west of Port Macquarie on the NSW Mid North Coast. We've operated here since 1998, producing high-quality crushed aggregates used in concrete, asphalt and road construction, supporting residential, commercial and infrastructure projects across the Port Macquarie-Hastings region. With the Pacific Highway around 200 metres from the site, the quarry provides convenient access to customers throughout the region.
Approved for expansion in 2024, Sancrox is set to supply up to 530,000 tonnes of hard rock per year over a 30-year period, alongside new concrete recycling, batching and asphalt facilities. The approval includes environmental management requirements covering biodiversity, air quality, noise, water and rehabilitation. Measures include staged vegetation clearing, revegetation and rehabilitation, and maintaining a biodiversity corridor to support habitat connectivity, including for the local koala population.
Supporting our local environment
On 5 August 2026, our team at Sancrox Quarry joined the Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI) and City of Gold Coast to plant 600 native plants in local parkland.
The planting will help strengthen the riparian zone, supporting native vegetation and the health of the surrounding environment.
The activity also marked the completion of the final action under a Voluntary Enforceable Undertaking, following an environmental incident at our site several years ago.
A big thank you to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and took part. Working alongside our local regulators and community partners was a great opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the local environment.
