Phil Schacht

Phil Schacht is a highly experienced business leader with more than three decades in the construction materials industry. Since joining Heidelberg Materials (formerly Hanson Australia and Pioneer International) in 1988, he has held a range of senior leadership positions across Australia and internationally in both the concrete and aggregates sectors.

During his career, Phil has led businesses throughout Australia before taking on international assignments as Country Manager for Malaysia and Singapore, and later as Managing Director of Aggregates and Asphalt in the United Kingdom. He returned to Australia in 2009 as Regional General Manager for Eastern Australia.

Phil was appointed Chief Executive of Heidelberg Materials Australia on 1 February 2016, where he leads the company’s integrated operations across quarrying, concrete, cement, asphalt, recycling and construction materials solutions.

A qualified mining engineer and finance professional, Phil holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining Engineering) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from the University of New South Wales.

In addition to his executive responsibilities, Phil serves as a director of several industry and community organisations, including Cement Concrete & Aggregates Australia, Cement Australia, Studio Schools Australia, Penrith Lakes Development Corporation and Heidelberg Materials Australia group companies.
